In lieu of your regularly scheduled Thursday Things post, this week’s Thursday post comes courtesy of Lauren, who tagged me in the survey you’ve probably seen floating around Blogland for the past few weeks. If you woke up this morning thinking, “Boy, I’d really like to learn a bunch of things about Bethany today instead of listening to her random ramblings,” you are in LUCK!
Four Names People Call Me (Other Than My Real Name):
—Â Brittany. (Not my name. Not now, not then, not ever.)
– Lady B. (My breakdance name đ )
– B.
– B-Dawg. (This was more of a high school thing.)
Four Jobs I’ve Had:
— Blogger x3 (not including this one)
– Editorial Intern
– Waitress
– Camp Counselor
And my current job, of course đ
Four Movies I Have Watched More Than Once:
— V for Vendetta
– The Hunger Games
– The Spirit of the Marathon (night before the day before the marathon tradition!)
– More Disney movies than I care to list
Four Books I’d Recommend:
— Unbroken
– Remains of the Day
– Requiem for a Dream
– The Cellist of Sarajevo
(These are all super heavy, btw. Well, maybe not Remains of the Day to as great of an extent, but I wouldn’t call any of these “beach reading.”)
Four Places I’ve Lived:
— My childhood home
– College
– Chicago
– …
I’ve really only ever lived in three places, unless we want to break this down to specific dorms/apartments/bedrooms in my childhood home. Haha.
Four Places I Have Been:
— Seattle (two times since I started blogging)
Four Places I’d Rather Be Right Now:
— Honestly
– I’m
– Happy
– Here
Four Things I Don’t Eat:
— Baby animals (lamb, veal).
– Radishes.
– Artificial sweeteners if at all avoidable.
– Squash, unless it has been detexturized (like butternut squash soup) and most of its squash-y flavor is gone.
Four of My Favorite Foods:
— Salmon
– Anything Mediterranean
– Seasonal fresh fruit
– ALL OF THE BAKED GOODS. Hahaha. Cookies, cake, brownies: gimme.
Four TV Shows That I (Have) Watch(ed because I Don’t Watch TV Anymore):
— Full House
– Boy Meets World
– The Big Bang Theory
– The Today Show
Four Things I’m Looking Forward To This Year (Year = Next 12 Months):
— Marathon #3, if all goes according to plan.
– Not spending all my disposable income on PT, ideally.
– Taking a WHOLE WEEK off for Christmas!
– Big changes, hopefully maybe possibly <– annoyingly vague.
Four Things I’m Saying:
— For sure. (Generally pronounced “Fer sher.”)
– Sick. (Or “siiiiiiiiiiiiick,” depending on the level of sickness. Meant as a good thing.)
– No, I won’t be home for dinner tonight. (Worst Roommate Ever award goes to me!)
– Sweetie (Reserved for cats and dogs, including my own, apparently, who I had never once called sweetie until I went home for Thanksgiving, when I repeatedly called him sweetie. I don’t know what’s gotten into me.)
Everyone and their blogging BFF has already been tagged in this survey, I think, so if you want to do it as well, consider this your tag.
Tell me something about yourself! Or make me feel important and just generally comment on anything I said đ
Something about myself: We have the same name đ I have an Etsy store where I sell my crafts – you can check it out on my Instagram @bccrafts101 or https://www.etsy.com/shop/BCcrafts101?ref=search_shop_redirect *did you know we were on Santa’s “naugtiest” list this year* haha
Haha I did see that, and I thought it was hilarious! I’ve always been a rule-follower to a fault, so it was quite a surprise to me that everyone with the name Bethany isn’t the same đ
I get called Brittany all the time too!! I guess Courtney and Brittany have the same ending? I’m reading unbroken as soon as finals are done and I’m so excited!
It’s a GREAT book. I bet you’ll love it! And what’s with everyone thinking we’re all named Brittany?! Goodness!
Hi Brittany!
Just kidding. I have a really funny story about an incorrect name that I need to blog about.
If you don’t like radishes, do you like kohlrabi?
đĄ
Hahaha. I’m looking forward to hearing your story!
I…don’t think I’ve ever had kohlrabi, to be honest. I actually don’t think I’ve ever even HEARD of kohlrabi.
Haha I say “for sure!” all the time too. Along with my “totallys,” It doesn’t do much to help my blonde, 20-something white girl status. I love that you’re happy here đ what a nice sentiment. I’ve never been to Seattle but I really want to go!
I’m a big totally person, too. I notice it a lot when I’m writing — I throw in way too many totallys and reallys. All about that emphasis đ Seattle’s great! If you ever get the chance to head out that way you should definitely go for it! (There’s another word I use a lot: definitely. Love me some -ly words hahaha)
Hahaha yes to disliking squash! I feel like I’m the only person (esp in the blogging world) who doesn’t go crazy for that…and bananas. The only way I like bananas is in a baked good…otherwise keep those things away!
Yay! A fellow squash disliker! I always feel like I’m some weirdo for not liking it — like in order to be a grown up, you have to like squash or something. I’m sticking to my guns on this one, though đ I do enjoy bananas, however. Gotta have one after a race!
