Who needs a boyfriend when you have a best fwend to cuddle with?
Whaddup, white Christmas.
Christmas Eve at home.
Christmas appetizers. Please note the fruit cup tower in the back.
It’s not a family gathering without a cousin game of Kerplunk.
Was introduced to the game Seven Wonders on Christmas. Does this not look eerily like the symbol of the Capitol in the Hunger Games?
I am obviously 100% okay with that.
Two failed attempts at Christmas dessert resulted in a candy cane cake.
Easily my favorite present from this Christmas. Three-in-one foam roller? Don’t mind if I do.
Ornament from Grandma, and the one place I want to be right now.
A couple months into my internship in Chicago, I found that I no longer enjoyed going home because I hated being away from Chicago. When I moved back to Chicago, I expected to feel the same way, but in the many times I’ve come home between moving six months ago and now, I never once minded it. When I got home on Thursday, though, the first thing that went through my mind was, “I don’t want to be stuck in this podunk town for almost two full weeks.” I’m grateful that I was able to take so much time off work, but I really wish I hadn’t planned to stay home so long. Don’t get me wrong — I love spending time with my family and seeing my friends from home and college that I haven’t seen in far too long. I’d just rather be in Chicago. Next Tuesday cannot possibly get here fast enough.
How was your Christmas?
I’m glad you had a nice Christmas and your family’s tree is gorgeous! I always love going home and seeing family but am quickly reminded that my home is now in Chicago. It’s nice to go home but I’m usually ready to be back in Chicago after a couple of days.
Have fun over the next week and be safe today (saw your comment on my post)!
Thanks! Yeah, I definitely think that if these past few days have shown me that Chicago is home for me now, too. It took a little longer than I expected, but I think it’ll make going back a lot easier than it has been in the past 🙂
mmm I want those meringues, so good! I am loving how your family does the whole game thing too, that is a classic. I haven’t played that one in ages. So glad you had a great time with family!
Kerplunk is such a classic. We looked for the copyright date on the game at my Grandma’s yesterday and it was something like 1967 or something super old like that. Gotta love it.
Also p.s. one of my cousins goes to Georgetown, and there was some talk about Easter in D.C. this coming spring. I don’t know if it’ll happen or if you’ll be around there that time of year…but I’ll keep ya posted 🙂
I WILL BE OMG PLEASE VISIT ME. overreaction. a no.
Love the candy cane cake! Hope you had a wonderful holiday!
Thanks! I did have a wonderful day, and I hope you did as well 🙂
Glad to see you had a wonderful Christmas! I totally understand your feelings on wanting to return to Chicago. I used to have those feelings when I would come back for breaks during college – I was ready to return after a week away!
Yeah, the same sort of thing happened to me at the end of college as well. Guess it means I’m growing up or something!
Three in one foam roller? How cool! Wish I got one of those for Christmas.
