I’ve got to admit: I wasn’t too optimistic about getting today’s run in. The forecast called for some pretty bad storms and in my experience, those sorts of things tend to happen more often in the afternoon. Things worked out, though…well, kind of…so that all the bad weather came through this morning (all. morning. long. Ugh) and by the time I got home from work the sun was shining!
I hadn’t written down the times for today’s run/walk, so I attempted to check the program out online before I went out to run. For some reason, though, I couldn’t get the website to load. I turned to my tried and true friend Google, but couldn’t access the program that way, either, at least not in English. I did, however, find it in a whole bunch of languages here, so I used this instead:
I’d like to pretend that being able to understand this is clear evidence of the fact that I’ve been studying Spanish for seven years, but I’m pretty sure someone whose knowledge of Spanish doesn’t go beyond “hola” could probably figure out the information I needed to know from that. Oh well.
Today’s run/walk was all right. I had a headache which was a bit of a bummer and I also dealt with a headwind for the first time in my entire training. I’m not entirely sure how I managed to avoid the wind until Week 6, but I’m not complaining! All in all it went decent-ish, though I still definitely have a long way to go. I did, however, look pretty schnazzy during my run, if I do say so myself.
New running clothes! I had a Target gift card burning a hole in my pocket, so I took care of some of that on Saturday. I felt super legit today, because up until this point all my exercise ever, including my 5K training, has been in old t-shirts and cotton Soffe-esque shorts. I don’t know if they really made that significant of a difference, but at least I looked cool 😛
